Fields for Project Categories

The following lists the fields of the project category form and provides recommendations for their use.

Name

In the Name field, you enter the name of the project category. It is considered best practice if the project category name consists of a single word, such as “Large”.

Description

In the Description field, you enter a very brief description of the project category, for example, “more than 200 working days”.

Disabled

The Disabled checkbox should be set if the category can no longer be associated with any projects.

Link

The value for the Link field is automatically set based on the Name field, converted to lowercase and with all spaces replaced by underscores. This link can be used to connect the category with a project via the RR Tech Service Management REST API or import function. If a category is associated with one or more projects, the link stops updating.

Information

In the Information field, you can add any additional useful information about the project category. This information is used by project managers when selecting a category for a specific project. Basic text formatting can be used in this field.

Projects

The Projects field lists all projects associated with the given category.
