Fields for Labor Costs

Below are the fields of the “labor costs” view, along with recommendations for their use.

Name

In the "Name" field, you enter the name of the labor cost type.

Disabled

The “Disabled” checkbox should be set if the labor cost type cannot be associated with any organizations or time entry records.

Group

The “Group” field is used to add the labor cost type to a group.

Description

In the “Description” field, you specify whether descriptions should be available in time entry records associated with the labor cost type, and if so, whether they are mandatory.

Service

In the “Service” field, you specify whether to require that the person incurring the time selects a service, and if so, whether any services are available for selection or only those associated with the labor cost type.

Services

In the “Services” field, services are specified that are available for selection in a time entry record associated with the labor cost type. If a single organization is associated with the labor cost type, it will be automatically set when the labor cost type is selected for a time entry record.

Client

In the “Client” field, you specify whether the person incurring the time should select a client organization, and if so, whether they can select any clients or only those associated with the labor cost type.

Clients

The clients associated with the labor cost type are selected in time entry records related to the labor cost type. If only one client organization is associated with the labor cost type, it will be automatically set when the labor cost type is selected for a time entry record.

Default Effort Class

The effort classes associated with the timesheet settings of the organization whose representative is selecting the value in this field are selected in the "Default Effort Class" field. If a default effort class is selected for the labor cost type, this class will be automatically set in the “Effort Class” field of a time entry record after selecting the labor cost type, provided that the person recording or updating the time entry record belongs to an organization using timesheet settings including this effort class.
