Import and Export

Users with the role Account Administrator can use import and export functions in Records Console. Through these functions, they can import new records or update existing ones in the spaces where they have the administrator role, as well as export records from those spaces.
Import
To import records into the RR Tech Service Management system, go to the Records Console and select the type of record you want to import. Then, click the Actions button and choose the "Import..." option. This will allow you to select CSV or TSV files in UTF-8 encoding, containing the information about the records you want to import. After selecting a file, click “Import” to begin importing.
Upon completion of the import, you will receive an email notification with the results of this action. Information on when the import was completed and whether it succeeded is also available in the system logs section of Settings Console. Any error messages can be opened from the record in system logs.
Import File Preparation
In the RR Tech Service Management developer documentation, in the Import section, you can find information on how to prepare import files for different types of records in the system. You can download sample CSV files for each type of import file in this section.
Export
To export all records of a specific type, select the record type in the Records Console, click the Actions button and choose the "Export..." option.
For some types of records, you can select which specific information needs to be exported. For example, if the record type is "Person", you can specify whether to export: person data, contact information, or their roles for use within the RR Tech Service Management system.
When you click the "Export" button, a CSV file in UTF-8 encoding will be prepared. After the export file is created, you will receive an email notification containing a hyperlink to download the export file to your computer.
Advanced Export Features
You can include multiple record types in a single export. This feature is available to space administrators in Settings Console within the export section. Here, you can also schedule a full, partial, or customized export. The Export Fields page describes the possibilities of using various form fields for initiating or scheduling advanced exports.
