Custom View Fields
The fields of the Custom View form are listed below and recommendations on how to use each of them are provided.
In the Name field, enter a name describing the entries that will be included in the Custom view.
Disabled
Section titled “Disabled”The Disabled checkbox is set if any suggestions of user fields can still or no longer be used in the Custom View for users to select records from the Custom View.
In the Link field, the value of the Name field is automatically set, written in lowercase letters and with all spaces replaced by underscores. This link can be used by integrations to uniquely identify the user’s view.
Record type
Section titled “Record type”The Record Type field specifies the type of record that the custom view should contain.
Status
Section titled “Status”In the Status field, select one of the states in which records of the type that is selected in the Record Type field can be located (for example, “Active” or “Inactive”). The selected status is a filter for the Custom View. This field must be left empty if records with any status are to be included in the view.
Search phrase
Section titled “Search phrase”Field The search phrase is used to filter records of the type that is selected in the Record Type field by the string available in the “Subject” or “Name” fields in these records.
Search fields
Section titled “Search fields”Using the Search Fields field, you can make certain fields of the Custom View searchable. This field is only available if the record type is a configuration item (CI).
Metadata fields
Section titled “Metadata fields”In the Metadata Fields field, attributes are selected that will be displayed in custom field suggestions based on Custom Views. These attributes can then be used in UI extensions in Javascript.
UI Extensions
Section titled “UI Extensions”The UI Extensions field shows UI extensions that include a custom field suggestion that uses a Custom View to limit the values that users can select in a custom field suggestion.
Filters
Section titled “Filters”Using the Filters field, you can apply filters to a custom view to limit the entries included in the custom view.
