Workflow Type fields

The following fields of a workflow type form are listed, along with recommendations for their usage.

In the Name field, you enter the name of the workflow type. It’s best if this name consists of a single word, such as “Application” or “Infrastructure”.

In the Description field, you enter a very brief description of the workflow type, for example, “Must adhere to change management policy for applications”.

The Disabled checkbox is set if the workflow type can no longer be associated with any templates or workflows.

The Link field is automatically set to the value of the Name field, written in lowercase and with all spaces replaced by underscores. This link can be used to associate the workflow type with a template or workflow using the R-Service (RR Tech Service Management) REST API or the Import function. The link cannot be updated if the workflow type is associated with one or more workflows.

The Information field can be used to add any additional information about the workflow type, which may be helpful, especially for workflow managers when selecting a workflow type for a template or workflow. Basic text formatting is possible in this field.

The Workflows field lists all workflows associated with the current workflow type.
