Basic project plan fields (Baseline)
The fields of the basic project plan form are listed below and recommendations for using each of them are provided.
Basic plan (Baseline)
The Baseline field indicates the name of the project baseline, which consists of the name of the phase that led to the creation of the project baseline and the date on which it occurred.
The baseline plan phase
The Baseline Phase field lists the phases of the project baseline that were created for each unfinished phase of the project when creating the project baseline.
Schedule
The Schedule field indicates the difference in calendar days between the planned completion time of the project (at the time of creation of the basic project plan) and the start of the first task of the project of the phase that is part of the basic project plan (at the time of creation of the basic project plan). This field also displays the start and end dates of the schedule. These dates are set when creating the basic project plan.
Budget
The Budget field shows the planned efforts that, at the time of creating the basic project plan, were supposed to be spent on completing the tasks of the phases included in the basic project plan. These efforts are expressed both in time and in the cost of that time.
Current volume
The Current Volume field displays the current total planned efforts for all project tasks by phases included in the basic project plan. The current volume is expressed in time. This field is displayed only if the current volume differs from the budget, i.e. when there is a volume deviation. In turn, a volume deviation occurs if: the planned efforts for a project task of one of the phases included in the basic project plan change; a new project task is added to one of the phases included in the basic project plan. A project task of one of the phases included in the basic project plan is moved to a phase not included in the basic project plan; a project task of one of the phases included in the basic project plan is assigned the status of ‘Failure’ or ‘Cancelled'.
Actual efforts
The Actual effort field displays the total time spent for all time records related to the project tasks of those phases that are included in the basic project plan. These actual efforts are expressed both in time and in the cost of that time.
Remaining efforts
In the field Remaining efforts displays the total remaining efforts for all project tasks of those phases that are included in the basic project plan.
Mastered volume
The Mastered volume field shows the total mastered volume of all project tasks of those phases that were included in the basic project plan at the time of its creation. The amount mastered is expressed as a percentage of the budgeted effort, as well as in the time and cost of that time.
Deviation from the schedule
The Deviation from Schedule field shows the difference in calendar days between the planned completion time of the project (at the time of the creation of the basic project plan) and the current expectation for the completion of the last project task from those phases that are included in the basic project plan. The deviation from the schedule is expressed in the number of calendar days.
Volume deviation
The Volume Deviation field shows the difference between the current volume and the budget of the basic project plan. The volume deviation is expressed as a percentage of the budgeted effort, as well as in time.
Deflecting efforts
The Effort deviation field shows the difference between the actual and mastered efforts (i.e., mastered volume, expressed in time spent) of the basic project plan. The deviation of efforts is expressed as a percentage of the mastered efforts, as well as in time.
Cost deviation
The Cost Deviation field shows the difference between the cost of the actual effort and the mastered cost (i.e., the mastered volume expressed as the cost of the mastered volume) of the basic project plan. The cost deviation is expressed as a percentage of the mastered cost, as well as the cost of effort deviation.
