Short URL fields
The fields of the short URL form are listed below and recommendations for using each of them are provided.
Short URL
The Short URL field contains an automatically generated URL. It starts with io, followed by a short sequence of random characters. For example: https://io.r-service.com/2BY8vJ
QR code
The QR code field contains an array of squares. This is a graphical representation of a short URL that can, for example, be scanned with a smartphone camera. Click on the QR code to download it as a PNG file.
Created (by whom)
In the field Created (by whom) the name of the person who created the short URL is displayed.
Created (when)
In the Created (when) field the date and time at which the short URL was created are displayed.
Type
In the Type field, select the type of URI to create. This URI is referenced by a short URL.
Configuration items (CI)
In the Configuration items (CI) field configuration items (CI) is selected, for which, when using a short URL, a request will be registered on the self-service portal. This field is available if the value “Configuration item on the self-service portal” is selected in the Type field.
Service
If the type of short URL is a configuration item on the self-service portal, then the service associated with the configuration item is selected in the Service field. If the type of short URL is a survey on a service on a self-service portal, then the service associated with the survey is selected in the Service field.
Request template
In the Request Template field, select request template, which will be applied to each new request opened on the self-service portal using a short URL. This field is available if the value “Self-service portal request template” is selected in the Type field.
Knowledge Base article
In the Knowledge Base Article field, select knowledge base article, the instructions for which are displayed on the self-service portal when using a short URL. This field is available if the value “Knowledge base article on the self-service portal” is selected in the Type field.
Dashboard
In the Dashboard field, select dashboard, which opens when using a short URL. This field is available if the value “Dashboard” is selected in the Type field.
Access token
Field The access token contains a unique token. It is entered by the one who uses the short URL for the dashboard. After entering the token, a dashboard opens with the access rights of the one who created the short URL. When using a short URL for the dashboard (or a shared URL), the ability to navigate from one of the dashboard reports to other entries is disabled.
Site URL
In the Site URL field, enter the site URL that opens when using a short URL. This field is available if the value “Site address” is selected in the Type field.
To whom
The To whom field specifies the email address to which the email will be sent when using the short URL. This field is available if the value “Email” is selected in the Type field.
Theme (Subject)
The Subject field indicates the subject of the email that is created when using a short URL. This field is available if the value “Email” is selected in the Type field.
Body
The Body field specifies the text in the body of the email that is created when using a short URL. This field is available if the value “Email” is selected in the Type field.
Phone number
The Phone Number field indicates the phone number to which the call will be made when using the short URL. If the value “SMS message” is selected in the Type field, then the phone number of the recipient of the SMS message is entered in this field, which will be generated using a short URL. This field is available if the value “Phone number” or “SMS message” is selected in the Type field.
SMS-message
The text of the SMS message that will be created when using a short URL is specified in the SMS message field. This field is available if the value “SMS message” is selected in the Type field.
Skype
The Skype field specifies the Skype name that will be called when using the short URL. This field is available if the value “Skype” is selected in the Type field.
Latitude
In the Latitude field, enter the latitude coordinates of the location for which the map opens when using a short URL. This field is available if the value “Map” is selected in the Type field.
Longitude
In the Longitude field, enter the longitude coordinates of the location for which the map opens when using a short URL. This field is available if the value “Map” is selected in the Type field.
Address
In the Address field, enter the address (or just the city or country) where the map opens when using a short URL. This field is available if the value “Map” is selected in the Type field.
Simple text
In the field Simple Text specifies the text that is displayed when using a short URL. This field is available if the value "Simple text" is selected in the Type field.
URI
The URI that opens when using a short URL is entered in the URI field. It is created automatically if a value other than “URI” is selected in the Type field.
