Timesheet Settings Fields

The fields of the timesheet settings form are listed below and recommendations for using each of them are provided.

Name

The name of the custom timesheet is entered in the Name field.

Disabled

The Disabled checkbox is set if the timesheet can no longer be associated with any organizations.

Tracking appointment completion time

The Tracking appointment time checkbox is set so that the "Elapsed time" field is available in requests, problems, and tasks. In it, specialists can indicate how much time they spent on completing assignments.

You need to fill out a comment

The Comment must be filled in checkbox makes it mandatory to add a comment in requests, problems, workflow tasks, or project tasks when filling in the "Time spent” field with a value other than zero.

The Time Frame Tracking checkbox is set to provide persons of related organizations with the opportunity to register time records for the types of time allocation related to their organizations.

Effort classes

The Link Effort classes field is used to select effort classes that a person can select when registering working hours. Individuals must belong to an organization that uses report card settings that allow for a choice of effort class. This field is available if the Tracking appointment time or Time frame tracking checkbox is selected.

Default for requests

In the field Default for requests, one of the effort classes specified in the previous field is selected for requests. It becomes the default value for requests and is set in the “Effort Class” field when a person enters a value in the “Time Spent” field in the request. The person must belong to an organization that uses these timesheet settings. This field is available if the Tracking appointment time checkbox is selected.

Default for problems

In the field Default for problems, one of the effort classes specified in the previous field is selected for problems. It becomes the default value for problems and is set in the “Effort Class” field when a person enters a value in the “Time Spent” field in the problem. The person must belong to an organization that uses these timesheet settings. This field is available if the Tracking appointment time checkbox is selected.

Default for workflow tasks

In the field Default for workflow tasks one of the effort classes specified in the previous field is selected. It becomes the default value for workflow tasks and is set in the “Effort Class” field when a person enters a value in the “Time Spent” field in the workflow task. The person must belong to an organization that uses these timesheet settings. This field is available if the Tracking appointment time checkbox is selected. Important: there are situations when a task is based on a template with a set value in the “Default Effort class” field, and this effort class is also associated with the timesheet settings. In this case, the default task uses the effort class selected in the template.

Default for project tasks

In the field Default for project tasks, one of the effort classes specified in the previous field is selected for project tasks. It becomes the default value for project tasks and is set in the “Effort Class” field when a person enters a value in the “Time Spent” field in the project task. The person must belong to an organization that uses these timesheet settings. This field is available if the Tracking appointment time checkbox is selected. Important: there are situations when a task is based on a template with a set value in the “Default Effort class” field and this effort class is also associated with the timesheet settings. In this case, the default task uses the effort class selected in the template.

Default for time frames

In the field Default for time frames, one of the effort classes specified in the previous field is selected for the time frame. It becomes the default value for the type of time allocation and is set in the “Effort class” field when a person selects the type of time allocation when registering a time record. The person must belong to an organization that uses these timesheet settings. This field is available if the Time frame tracking checkbox is selected. Important: there are situations when the type of time allocation costs already has a set value in the “Default Effort class” field and this effort class is also associated with the time sheet settings. In this case, the effort class selected as time allocation costs is used by default.

Time frame tracking

Working day

The Working Day field indicates the length of the working day in hours and minutes.

Working week

The Working Week field indicates the length of the working week in hours and minutes.

Allow overtime (on a business day)

The Allow overtime checkbox is set if the organizations that use these timesheet settings are allowed to register more working hours than indicated in the "Working Day" field.

Allow overtime per week

The Allow overtime per week checkbox is set if the organizations that use these timesheet settings are allowed to register more working hours than indicated in the "Workweek" field.

Unit

The Unit field specifies exactly how individuals should register their working hours: in hours and minutes, or as a percentage of the working day.

Increment

The Increment field indicates the minimum amount of time that individuals can select when registering a time record. You can also increase the minimum amount of time by this value.

Organizations

Organizations

In the Organizations field, select the organizations to whose timesheets these settings are applied.
