Sprint

Sprint is the time period during which the team works. Sprints are part of Scrum. Only one sprint is active at any given time. A sprint contains several elements that together form the volume of a given sprint.

The sprint becomes active at the moment of its start (at the same time, the team assumes obligations to fulfill the scope of this sprint). The start of a sprint also automatically creates a new sprint (with the status ‘Registered’) so that the scope of the next iteration can be determined. A sprint becomes ‘Completed’ when it ends, and then the next sprint (‘Registered’) can begin.

The active sprint is closely related to the agile board in Scrum. All the elements of the sprint are placed on the agile board at the beginning of the sprint. The team then uses an agile board to track the progress of work on an item during the sprint. An item is considered ‘Completed’ when it is moved to the last column of the board. The volume of an active sprint changes when items are added or removed from the agile board, as these items are added or removed from that sprint at the same time.

Only Scrum team members and administrators can manage sprints in it.

The Sprint Fields page provides recommendations on how to use each of the sprint form fields.
